Central Texas foreclosure postings up 62%

Central Texas foreclosures posted for the upcoming October auction are up 62 percent over the same month last year.
There are 861 postings listed for this auction compared with 531 in October 2007, according to data collected by the Addison-based Foreclosure Listing Service Inc. In Travis County, postings are up 75 percent over last October to 446. In Williamson they’re up 70 percent to 274.
So far this year, foreclosure postings across the four-county region total 7,341, a 25 percent increase over the first 10 months of 2007. Year-to-date totals in Travis and Williamson County are up about 30 percent. The 3,749 postings in Travis County so far in 2008 represent a year-to-date record.
